25173 completed a successful loaded test run on Saturday 08/01/05

25173 was successfully started on Saturday (18th
for the first time Since completion of repairs to it's turbo & exhaust system
It then did several light engine moves around the station layout at Williton
All being well a loaded test run will take place between Xmas & the new year

and bodywork repairs & repaint completed & should be back in traffic soon

Word has reached us that 26040 has been successfully started
For the first time in preservation
Congratulations to all involved
25173 made one of its rare passenger outings last Friday As part of the W.S.R. diesel Gala
Unfortunately 173 was not in the best of health
And as a result was unable to work all its diagram on Friday
and could not take part in Saturday & Sunday's Activity

Well Last weekend proved to be a positive feast for Sulzer Type 2 Action
With 24054 taking part in the Thomas event at Embsay
25057 working the diesel diagram on Saturday at the N.N.R
25059 working 3 out of it's 4 booked days at the K & W.V.R
Thanks to the efforts of the volunteers repairing the damage caused by the yobs on Thursday night
25321 covering for the D.M.U. at the M.R.C.
25901 working as part of the Easter Transport Gala
& 27024 working at the Caledonian Railway
One welcome addition at the K & W.V.R was that the Kitchen car was on the train
Serving what can only be described as Mega breakfasts Photos Here & Here
And also making the train load 5
With luck this will become a regular feature of the Bank holiday Diesel turns

Unfortunately 25059 was unable to work it's booked turns today at the K & W.V.R
This was due to an attack of vandalism on it last night
The damage includes one of the power handles being ripped out ,fire extinguishers stolen & damaged
& the theft of detonators from the loco
It is hoped to have the loco back in traffic by tomorrow
so it can complete the rest of its booked turns over the Easter holiday

Was found to be in need of restoration & not running & maintenance
So all parties concerned decided the best option was to move the loco to the Dean Forest Railway
To be close to the owners restoration team
25072
Has been acquired by the C.R.D.G. & moved to the Caledonian Railway
The Loco is presently undergoing an external repaint
& will be restored as time & manpower allow
25235
The loco has been found to have a generator problem
And it has been decided to take it out of service

It has now moved to the Dean Forest Railway for repair

I have received a report that 25283 / D7633 has been sold
And is to leave the S.V.R. in the very near future
This will bring to an end one of the worst examples of alleged preservation
And the new owners can only be commended for liberating this loco from somewhere that has undervalued it to say the least
I wish the new owners All the best of with the restoration

First of all apologies for a recent lack of updates
Due in part to the rather large amount of class 25 mileage to be had in the last couple of months
First a brief round up of news
Unfortunately I have been informed that D5207/25057 has developed a heat exchange problem and is now
unlikely to be available for it's booked 3 round trips at the North Norfolk on the 27/9
27066/103/212 is now at the E.L.R. for a stay of around 12 months and was used at last weekends gala
25265 will see very limited passenger use at this coming weekends G.C.R. gala
but just for a change seems to be spending most of its time on the goods train for the benefit of photographers
a big thank you to whoever came up with the diagrams for that one! ( NOT )
25262/901 is diagrammed to be working at the South Devon this weekend as part of the Transport Heritage Weekend
and is due to work the following trains (Subject to availability)
