Stars of 2001

The Keighley & Worth Valley Diesel Gala gave us another (if unexpected) High point
A pair of Ex Scottish first body design 25's
A Huge effort was putt in by all at Bo'ness to prepare 25235,26024 & 47643 at short notice
And was well rewarded with a last minuet loco change on the Saturday night Beerex
From 47643 to yes you guessed 25235
The result was almost nine minuets of full power as we ran non stop from Keighley to Haworth

Here We see Mr Blair and a few others appreciating 25235 doing what it does best
Making LOTS OF NOISE!!!

A Low point Came when 25279(D7629) made it's passenger debut at
The Great Central (14/7/01) on the first run of the day she was coughing & spluttering a fair bit
But on the additional that evening gave a most impressive run to Leicester north
But unfortunately after an impressive departure on the run back the turbo seized Again!!!
Much hard graft & spending of money followed this
To Get the loco back in full working order for the Diesel Gala
And this time it was a Triumphant return with some impressive runs on its own and paired with
the under used 25265
A total of 238.25 miles was available from class 25's in 3 days in 2001!!!!!

Here we see 25279 (D7629) With the man responsible for her triumphant return

I think i speak for everybody who sampled 279 at the gala when I say
Huge Thank you to Mark Fowler & Friends
For All you efforts to give us 279 back on top form

More this way
